If you are a creditor

A members' voluntary liquidation requires the directors to swear the company can pay every creditor in full within 12 months, plus statutory interest. Submit your claim to the liquidator to be included in the distribution.

If you are a shareholder

Once all creditors are paid, the liquidator distributes the remaining assets to shareholders. Capital distributions are usually taxed as capital gains rather than income.
